Denmark: Clever and Apcoa Collaborate on 5,000 Charging Points in Parking Facilities
Clever, in partnership with Apcoa, aims to set up over 5,000 public charging stations in car parks across Denmark by 2028. Additionally, users will soon be able to pay for charging at all 8,500 public Clever stations through the Apcoa app.
Currently, Apcoa operates 120 charging stations in Denmark, which will be integrated into the Clever network this autumn, allowing for billing through Clever. The primary focus of this partnership is to greatly enhance charging infrastructure in parking facilities. However, details on the distribution of the new charging points and their capacities have not been disclosed. Apcoa will provide guidance to car park owners on how to incorporate charging solutions, while Clever will handle installation, maintenance, and operation.
Michael Christensen, Managing Director of Apcoa Denmark, remarked, “We are seeing increasing demand for charging facilities at our 3,000-plus locations. The expectation to charge while parked will continue to rise.” He emphasized that this necessitates significant upgrades to their parking services, which they hope to achieve through collaboration with Clever.
Beyond hardware installation, the Apcoa Flow app will soon facilitate ad hoc payments for charging at all of Clever’s 8,500 public stations, allowing users to pay for both charging and parking through a single app. Pricing will be based on prevailing market rates, as set by Apcoa.
