There will be 150 new charging points in Lancashire
Bp's Chargemaster project to install 150 high-street charging stations in Lancashire, in partnership with Lancashire county council, is nearing completion with the opening of a new "super hub" for charging stations.
Said the supercenter is also for drivers to use the M6, which is made up of 18 chargers located near parks and riding grounds near the J34, near Lancaster. As part of the plan, work is nearing completion to ensure emergency parking at an additional 32 locations throughout the county. Last week, a cabinet meeting resolution also restricted parking Spaces for electric cars.
County councillor Keith Iddon, cabinet member of Lancashire county council for motorways and transport, said: "the government is funding the establishment of 150 charging points in increasing the use of electric vehicles, reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality, and I am pleased that these points are now available for use."
The charging station consists of a 50kw charger and a 7kw charger, and the partners claim to be able to charge a car in an hour or three hours. While HPC charging stations using larger batteries could also speed up the process, it is a good start and will help ensure that electric car drivers in the UK can get to their destinations without having to worry about making the detour to the charging park en route.
The department for transport's highways maintenance challenge fund provided a total of 14.8 million pounds for the project. The money will be used for various transportation renovation projects, including the introduction of LED streetlights to help reduce energy consumption.
